Our owner has spent more than a decade behind the chair, first as a hairstylist and now leading the team at Kekem African Braids.
That experience shows up in small things: how a part is sectioned, how much tension a braid needs to hold without pulling, how long a style really takes on your hair rather than on someone else’s.
Braids look finished when the parts are even. Our braiders take the time to section the hair cleanly before the first braid goes in, because that’s what you’ll see every time you put your hair up.
We keep tension comfortable and check in with you while we work. If something feels too tight, tell us, and we’ll adjust it. Your edges are worth protecting.

Our regulars are women with full weeks who want a style that looks good for more than a few days. Alongside them: kids getting braids that hold up at school, men coming back for cornrows on a schedule, and clients getting ready for a trip, a wedding or a graduation.
We braid. Kekem African Braids does not cut hair and does not color hair, so you’ll always be sitting with someone whose full attention is on braiding.
Results vary depending on your hair type and aftercare, and we’ll tell you honestly when a style you’ve seen online won’t sit the way you expect on your hair.
You’ll find us at 265 Sawdust Rd, Suite A, Spring, TX 77380, with free parking outside. We open at 7:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, which is the easiest way to get a long style finished in a single visit, and we’re closed on Mondays.
